![]() ![]() ![]() I forget exactly which legitimately released version I'm thinking of, but there's one particular version of either So What or All Blues (possibly from the Plugged Nickel, 1965 - but maybe it's from one of the '63-'64 groups) - where the band comes out of the head, and somebody in the audience lets out the loudest, deepest belly-laugh you ever heard (surely laughing at how frickin' fast the band is playing what was only previously known on record as being a really 'mid-tempo'-kind of tune). Easily TWICE as fast as the 1959 originals. ![]() The versions of "So What" and "All Blues" that Miles' second great quintet with Wayne Shorter did (including the slightly earlier configuration of that group, the one with George Coleman on tenor) - circa 1963-65. ![]()
